Each year our team at Western Health provide care to more than 800,000 patients. This could be a neighbour, a friend or a family member. To give these patients their best chance of recovery, our care extends from the hospital and into their homes.

To help us help our community, why not step out in support and register for our fun fundraiser, WalkWest Virtual Landmarks Challenge 2022.

Thanks to last years’ supporters we were able to raise more than $110,000 for our community and this year we are aiming higher. We want to raise $250,000 and with your help we can support Western Health provide best care for our community.

The more we raise, the more we can help.

WalkWest Virtual Landmarks Challenge

Help Western Health give the best care in the west by walking anytime, anywhere!

Starting 9 November, challenge yourself to walk a marathon - 42kms - in 21 days. That’s the distance between Flemington Racecourse and Werribee Zoo.

Log your kilometres as you go and light up our virtual landmark badges. As you complete certain milestones you’ll achieve badges acknowledging your success.

Will you light up all 10 badges?

Where the money will go

The money we raise from WalkWest will go towards supporting our patients
with their treatment and recovery at a time when they need it the most.

This could be a neighbour, a friend or a family member. Here’s how that money can help:

  • $1000+ can fund additional emotional, educational, psychological and social support for a patient from a health care professional, to help them navigate the complexities of a scary cancer diagnosis
  • $500 can cover one off costs like a special final family photoshoot, or support families who’ve had to tighten the purse strings, so kids don’t miss out on footy, school excursions or birthday parties
  • $250 could pay for a patient to enrol in a specially tailored gym program to help them meet the physical challenges of chemotherapy
  • $100 could provide a pack of essential care items for a patient
  • $50 could cover transport to get safely home from hospital
