How to Fundraise

When you register to take part in WalkWest, you will automatically be assigned with your own fundraising page. You can setup your fundraising page on registration, or return back to it later by logging into your account.

Share your page with family, friends and colleagues and ask them to donate or even to join your WalkWest team. Donations can be made directly on your page and receipts are automatically generated. You can also send messages of thanks to your supporters.

1. Personalise your fundraising page

Upload a profile picture! Share your story and let everyone know why you’re taking part in this year’s WalkWest. The more personalised your fundraising page the better!

2. SET YOUR FUNDRAISING TARGET

The default fundraising target on registration is $250. You can increase, or decrease, your fundraising target to an amount that you feel is achievable for you. Every dollar you raise will go directly to supporting the health of Melbourne's west.

  • Raise over $30 and receive your exclusive WalkWest 2020 t-shirt
  • Raise over $350 and receive a double movie pass
  • Raise over $500 for exclusive entry to the WalKWest VIP Marquee

3. Be the first to donate

Being the first to donate lets your friends and colleagues know that you’re serious about fundraising and sets the benchmark for others to donate. Plus...when you donate the first $30 to your fundraising page you will be eligible for your exclusive WalkWest 2020 t-shirt!

5. Increase your target

If you’re close to reaching your goal, or you’ve achieved it, then increase it! If people think you’re close to your goal they might donate less than they intended to.

6. Thank your supporters

Let your supporters know you appreciate their donation. The simple act of a thank you goes a long way if you plan to ask them again.

7. Ask again!

People often need reminding. If you’ve asked them once and they haven’t donated, don’t be afraid to ask again. They may simply have just forgotten and won’t mind a friendly reminder.

8. After the event

Share photos of the event and announce your fundraising tally, thanking your donors. This gives a final reminder to anyone who hasn’t donated and may help you reach your target if you’re falling short. Fundraising will remain open until April 30th.
